If you want custom merch made in front of your guests anywhere in Orange County, one of the biggest lines on the quote isn't ink or garments. It's whether the printing crew has to travel to reach you. Merch Troop is based in Fullerton, so for OC events there's no flight, no per diem and no truck coming in from out of state, and the quote has no travel fee.
National live printing companies will happily book an Anaheim or Irvine event. Somewhere in their number is airfare for the crew, a rental van, hotel nights near the venue and a buffer day in case a flight runs late. None of that applies when the gear already lives in the county.
What "local" actually buys you in OC
It changes how the day runs more than people expect:
- No travel fee, county-wide. The Anaheim Convention Center, a brewery in Costa Mesa or a backyard in Huntington Beach, the drive is on us. That money can go into another station or better blanks.
- Short notice is often workable. Presses and dryers stay staged in Fullerton, so a Tuesday call about a Saturday pop-up at the Irvine Spectrum isn't automatically a no. It depends on crew and blanks, not flights.
- Nothing to ship. Presses, dryers and blanks ride over in our own truck the morning of the event, so there's no freight to track or lose.
- One crew, start to finish. The Fullerton team that quotes your event is the team that shows up, and you can call a real person the whole way through.
More than shirts
"Live printing" gets shorthanded to t-shirts, but a lot of OC events use two or three stations. A tech summit in Irvine might pair live DTF printing for full-color art with a live hat bar so guests build their own cap. A PTA fundraiser in Fullerton might want one-color tees plus embroidery for the volunteers. Screen printing is still in the mix as one option among equals, alongside DTF, hats, embroidery and promo goods.
How fast can you really move?
For most events, two to four weeks is comfortable and gives us time to proof art and stage blanks in your sizes. Because we're local, a date under two weeks out is often still doable.
