Pick screen printing when one design goes on a lot of shirts. Pick DTF when the art is full-color or changes from guest to guest. Both run live, both come out of our Fullerton shop, and plenty of Orange County events use one of each.
Screen printing gives you rich, opaque ink and that pulled-by-hand look, and it's the fastest way through a long line when everyone gets the same art. DTF has no color limit, handles gradients and photos, and lets us add a name or swap a sponsor logo between guests without burning a new screen.
How to choose for your Orange County event
- Screen printing for a bold one- to three-color logo at volume: an expo booth, a fairgrounds crowd, a school spirit night.
- DTF for full-color art, photos, names and numbers, or several designs on the menu at an Irvine Spectrum pop-up.
- Both when you want one signature design on the press and personalization beside it, in the same footprint.
Weather matters a little here too. Screen ink needs the flash dryer, which wants its dedicated circuit; on the sand in Huntington Beach that means a generator. DTF runs off a heat press, which is easier to power outdoors.
